Amber was born and raised in Utah, where she and her husband are raising their four amazing children. Amber’s middle son came out two years ago when he was 14 years old. Because of her son’s bravery, her fierce love for the LGBTQ community grew, and her journey of advocacy was set in motion. Amber has spent countless hours advocating in her community, educating people about the importance of equality. She believes that speaking her truth in a loving way is the most powerful tool she has. Currently, Amber is finishing her degree at the University of Utah in Human Development and Family Studies, along with a Diversity Certificate. After she graduates she plans to dedicate her time to working with underprivileged and homeless youth in Utah. Amber has been teaching dance for over 20 years, loves reading (any genre of book but especially historical fiction), skiing, and feels especially close to God when she is in the great outdoors hiking. “We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” -Elie Wiesel
